Project Description

The Sacramento Convention Center renovation project encompassed 71,800 SF of new exhibit hall space plus pre-function areas, a 39,000 SF new ballroom and a 3,700 SF new main kitchen. The project also includes new entry lobbies on the east and west sides of the facility, the addition of 30,000 SF of meeting space, 10,800 SF of administrative offices, a new outdoor plaza and an upgraded central utility plant. To make way for the work, demolition began at both the western half of the existing Sacramento Convention Center and an east-side legacy administration building. The renovation was part of the City’s C3 project and involved a $180 million investment. The new center features over 540,000 square feet of programmable space, including outdoor meeting areas and is equipped with state-of-the-art technology.
