Jesse Unruh Historic Building Renovation

Jesse Unruh Historic Building Renovation

Project Description

The Jesse Unruh Building is a historic building that was originally constructed in 1929.  In 1984, the Jesse Unruh Building and the Fountain Plaza were listed on the National Register of Historic Places as a contributor to the Capitol Extension District. This project rehabilitated the 164,206 square foot, 5-story historic building, including upgrades and repairs for electrical systems, new lighting and controls, new electrical switchboards, emergency standby generators and power systems.  This project exceeded the State’s targeted sustainability goals of Zero Net Energy and LEED Platinum Certification, as well as carbon neutral goals for operating without reliance on fossil fuels. As a project historic property, all work complied with the Secretary of the Interior’s Standards.
